Question Modifying a 97 2wd? Worth it?

I have a 97 2wd, and I'd like to buy stuff for it ie:Ram bar, lights, tires, ect. I cant afford a 4x4 but i still want to make my truck look nice. I just want some of your opinions on wether or not its worth time and money to put this stuff on a 2wd. I do go offroad with it, just not in mud, for obvious reasons lol. I also dont like how low it sits, what would be better, cheap lift kit or just a leveling kit? Also if anyone else has modified a 2wd and has pictures, id love to see em.
Thanks

Mines not an F150 but it will give you a pretty good idea of what a 2wd lift will look like. My expedition is on an F150 frame and I'm using an F150 fabtech lift. Depending on how high you want to go you can do the same. Whats on my truck is a 3" body lift and 7.5" fabtech lift kit. Few questions for ya, are you mechanically inclined to install yourself? If so, I recommend getting a body lift to start. Should be about 200 bucks for your truck for the kit. you can either go 2 or 3 inches with this. Also a Level kit as you stated will be perfect. A lot of people like to run the daystar level kit. If you don't want to go for a full crossmember lift, you can just get some lift spindles which will give you around 3-3.5". Tires I would reccomend either a set of bfg kos, toyo all terrains or some nitto terra grapplers. Heres my fabtech

I'm on 35s right now but you could easily run 37s. Just depends on how big you want to go.

I have a 98 2wd if you go to my gallary you can see pics. I don't due any offraoding since it is my daily driver, but love the rugged look and use the lights for outdoor events that I do. As much as I love lifted trucks I can't due mine since it would make it to hard to load the stuff I have to by myself.

Why not sell your truck and use the extra few thousand dollars your going to put into a lift to just buy a 4x4 then save for a lift for that.

If its just the look of a lifited truck your looking for tho. Then yea its easy to do on a 2wd
