Earlier this year I got my first car, well truck, a white and tan 05 Ford F150 Screw Lariat. While in school I was not able to do what I wanted with my truck, however now that summer has rolled around and I,ve fallen into a summer job and renovations on my truck are on the not so distant horizon! While Ive been thinkin about what Ive wanted to do for a while now I have a pretty good idea about what i would like to do. This is hopefully where yall come in... if yall have any advice on what im puttin on my truck or comments/corrections or suggestions or even just thoughts any feedback would be GREATLY appreciated!

Truck has tan leather interior with 2 tone Oxford White w/Arizona Beige trim (thank you Johnnyd2723 haha) and black and chrome accents (but mostly black) Screw and has 2WD. Im tryin to post a picture or two on my page in the near future.

Here's my list:

1) Warn Trans4mer Brush Guard in black

2) Sportsman Tail Light Guard in black

3) 6 inch Cross member/Knuckle Lift Kit with ES3000 Shocks (shocks are white and black) Will the lift be to big for my 18'' Rims? I believe my tire specs are BFG Rugged trail P275/65R18 M&S RADIAL TIRES.

4) XD9000i Multi-Mount Winch Ive already bought this and would just like to know the best way to mount it on the Warn Trans4mer Brush Guard if yall think that Brush Guard is best

5) Crew Cab 3" Nerf Step Bar in black

Thats all I plan to do unless its absolutely necessary to change my rims and or tires. Also if there is anything else yall think should be done or would look nice any comments or suggestions would be very greatly appreciated!

Post up a pic of the truck, so everyone here can get better ideas for suggestions.

 

2005 with a 5.4? First thing I'd do is check the history of the fuel injectors. See the 07M08 link in my sig.

 

Not to be a downer but why did you buy a winch for a 2WD truck? For looks im guessing?

IMO I would put my money into something else instead of a winch (which are normally quite pricey)

I would use that money to put some off road lights in the brush guard because at least those will be functional.

We're also gonna need to see pics of the truck!

To answer the winch question the Warn winch I bought valued at 1,312$ I bought used (twice) for 50$ in perfect condition!!! haha so although i wasnt planning on buying one because your definitely right 1300 or even 500 for some of the less expensive winches is a crazy amount of money for looks!! However, I have run into situations where Ive pulled people out of mud or ditches where a winch regardless of my 2WD would have been MUTCH more effective! And also i would like to be able to do some light off-roading without having to worry about getting stuck!

Going with your idea of some off road lights witch i would really like to get what brand/make would you suggest?

Lights would be whatever you can afford. You can get two cheap Hella's for like 60 bucks at walmart (actually not terrible lights for the money)

KC high lites for like 110 bucks

I like PIAA myself but they are kinda pricey.

Whatever you choose just do some research on them before you purchase

Yes the Winch was an AWESOME deal (if you want to know my secret it was an angry wife that was getting a divorce with her husband, she just wanted to get rid of his stuff and didnt care about the money i even tryed to offer more! Craigslist is where i found it)

 

Exhaust and a tuner are must haves. Then maybe look at replacing the grill and tinted windows. Btw it's Oxford White w/Arizona Beige trim.

Thanks on the color corection! haha its always good to be precise ill change that in the text! and i dont know much about window tinting except for the obviouse of course... is there anything really to it? Also any exhaust suggestions?? Im a liitle more knowledgeable on mechanical type mods only because my dad and i stripped and rebuilt a Ford T-Bird last summer which really taught me a lot but i dont know many F150 specifics, however im getting there seeing as i dont see myself driving anything but F150's in the future!

And yes i do howd ya know?? The two big "S" 's haha

Ahh haha i didnt even think of that! my two guesses where the Stratford stickers or trailer hitch cover and or youd seen me driving. Very clever!

 

Are you keeping stock wheels? Since your getting a lot of black accents, I think it would look killer with some black wheels and heads. Also, I would go with Nfabs instead of running boards. A little more expensive but they look so much better IMO.

 

Thanks Lightning Expo! I do want to trade my rims and tires in for some new ones! I was thinking about waiting untill I install the lift though in case i need to increase size in Rim or tire thickness. Is that the best way to do that? My biggest fear with lifting the truck is that im going to outlift the size of my wheels... any suggestions? And I agree with some black rims!

 

And how about Nerf? there the bars instead of the actual running boards. Are those the same as what your talking about?
