Overlay Installation
Overlay Installation
The emblems on the front and back of my truck are starting to bubble and it looks like there is water inside the emblem. I'm tired of looking at the bubbles so I'm ordering some overlays from Patriot Decals.
I read the installation info on Patriot Decals website and it seems like you just stick the overlay on top of the emblem (I know, I know its called an overlay for a reason). However, the "Ford" lettering is raised and like I said there are air/water pockets there already. Should I try to remove the outer layer of the decal? If so, what's the best way to go about it? Also, will the overlay have air pockets of its own if I try to put it over the raised lettering?
Thanks guys.

You can take an orbital sander and sand ther ford writting off to make it smooth. Make sure to sand the paint off the entire emblem unlike I did or when you get close to it you will be able ti see what u did t sand off. The metallic red for sure is transparent and shows the area I didn't sand when I look at it close up.
put a couple layers of masking tape around the out side it.. that way you can't hit the paint very easy.. i did mine with out any tape.. real it is pretty easy
