CW grille install help

I bought the Carriage Works black grille for my 08’ F150. Install was a PITA and I am still having a hard time getting the surround and grille flush with my truck. I took a pic to show what I am talking about. What did you guys do to get it flush? Thanks…

Yeah, that's how mine looked when I had it. I bought it used off of Craig's List, so I didn't know if that's how it was supposed to be, or if the PO had messed it up. I guess they just come like that.

Looks flush to me

the only thing i dont like about the cw grills, is you have to drill four holes in your surround. Didnt mind it so much at the time but once i changed grills i asked myself why did i do that

Well all of you say it looks flush so I guess it is staying that way. I just didn't remember the gap between the surround and the truck being there before. When you changed grilles could you see the four holes that you drilled?

Its not really a big deal but

Whenever I open the hood, i notice them and some paint is peeling around those areas.

Samantha, I think I just noticed what you're asking about. The gap between the surround and the headlight? Bigger at the bottom, looks like. Just noticed it. Looks like something might be a bit off. There are bump stops that adjust for that behind the grill. Might check those. ????

They're the little rubber pieces the grill hits on at the back. Gonna shoot a pic. I'll post in a second. On crackberry now.

Here you go. Hope this helps. They're the rubber things at the bottom outside corners of the grill shell. Not sure what might be hitting them, but something must be. Maybe you just never noticed it before. Anyway, they screw in and out to adjust. You'll want your grill just touching them. No real outward pressure from them. But they need to support the grill so it doesn't bounce or vibrate.

Maybe that'll get you fixed up.

David

Glad I could help. Snap a couple pics of that grill while you're there. Hope that fixes it.

Well I found mine. They are rubber squares and they are not touching the grille when the hood is shut. I am washing my truck tomorrow, will post the grille pics then. It's already dark here right now.
