train horn question

done plenty of searches but no exact answer

I have had my train horn hooked up to a separate switch for a while and want to control the train horn with the steering wheel.
I have a switched wire going to the solenoid and then a short ground to the frame.

Is there anything I can do with the power wire going to the solenoid to make it work when i honk the steering wheel?

I have only read about people doing the on/off/on with the grounds of the stock horn and solenoid. what can i do since my solenoid ground is only a foot long lol.

Thanks

Same here, I also threw a toggle swith on the tap so I can switch back and forth. Sometimes the train horn can be deemed innappropriate. lol.

just look at the wires going to the horn. on my 98 one of them is black and the other is green i think. black is probably a ground.

I am not sure if I understand this, if I tap the power wire for the train horn into the power for the stock horn, wouldn't it automatically set of the train horn when the wires touch?
doesn't the stock horn power wire have constant power?

No, it should only get power when you honk. I would also disconnect the wire to the stock horn unless you want both to blast when you honk.
