I went to install my roush lower grille that a member made for me.. well I noticed i have to take out that black insert piece that the factory bumper grille bolts on to but how in the hell do you take that piece out without having to take the bumper out... if this helps i got a 2004 FX4..

 

a pic would help, but can't you just get creative (or mean) and rip the damn thing out??? i guess we would need a pic to give you some better advise.....

 

are u talking about the license plate bracket ? there ate two screws accessable from the top with the hood open the bottom is just tabs (2) PUSH THEM IN AND IT WILL POP OUT now U can put the lower grill piece in it's place. U will have to get a little creative re mounting the license plate if needed.
