Hmmmm...might have to look into that. I'd take em tomorrow, but not sure what I'm doing with the heads quite yet. Not sure if I'd like the fogged tails with clear / chrome heads & fogs. Then again, those emit light where as the tails aren't quite as important.

They'd have to be more satin...can't tell in the pics, but the Xtra really is glossy when clean and in the sun.

there are ALOT of threads on here about HIDs. you can run a search, but basically you will just have to buy a kit with your correct bulb number. (i think for your truck is 9007 for the headlights and 9145 for the fogs).

and as far as color here is a chart i found

the most popular colors are 5000K which is pure white, 6000K which has a hint of blue, or 8000K which are really blue with a little white. any higher temp color and visibility is reduced alot.

the colors mentioned above are for 35 watt kits. you can buy a 55 watt kit that is brighter, but to get the desired color you will have to buy a color up (e.g. 55w 8000K is about the same color as 35w 6000K). but trust me 35w kits are plenty bright.

ddm tuning has some good kits for cheap (that seems to be the consensus on the best place to get them). thats where i got my 35w 6000Ks and i am very pleased. most people buy the slim ballast kit for their heads and raptor kit for their fogs.

there is also a better color chart on that page you can look at.

hope that helps! but if not like i said there are plenty of threads on here about it, or you can just ask somebody who is running HIDs.

Thanks!!! Are they truly plug and play, no adjustment needed, etc? Never problematic? I just might have to do this. How are there no hot spots / light artifacts when using a reflector made for an incan bulb?

Just ordered Depo clear fogs and put an offer on TYC clear heads & corners.

Anyone think my original red tails "fogged out" would look better than the "L" tails?

taking the headlights apart is really easy and atleast youll know that theyre sealed well

my headlights are the smoked ones from ebay, and i took them apart and painted the inside too

and the black L taillights would look great on your truck. you could even take the chrome ones you have apart and strip the chrome off.

its a tad more complex than plug and play, but nothing crazy, just plugging in prewired harnesses and stuff (trust me if i can do it, you definitely can). but i have yet to have a problem out of mine

and of course these setups are meant for a projector housing and a reflector housing will scatter the light(especially in a lifted truck), but if you aim your actual housings down slightly, it cuts down on alot of the scattering. or you could just not worry about it, and **** off the oncoming traffic

and yes, smoking the stock tails is definitely a cheaper option. its simple, cheap, and imo looks really good too.

here are mine. i know its the wrong body style but maybe it will give you an idea. this photo was taken with the dusk sun shining straight on them.

in direct sunlight you can still see red, but if its in the shade it looks straight black. and the light output at night is almost unaffected. im actually considering going a shade darker.

in a more shaded spot

they also have no clear coat on them, just niteshade. since that picture i have used meguiars polish&wax on them and they look really glossy now.
