Upgrade Tires

Upgrade Tires

I have a 1997 Xlt, with the standard 16 inch rims, what is the bigget tires i can put on theese rims without putting on a lift, or aftermarket rims. I alrady have the torsion bars cranked.

I've heard that 35"'s on a stock rim would rub just a bit on the frame but would fit. I'd go with 33's and have no rubbing issues.

So would the 33 inchers for that rim be this size?LT285/75R16/E

Yeah thats like 33x11.5 or you could go 305/70R16 and get a slight more wider of a tire

I would go with a 295/75R16, it is a little wider and taller than the 285. Nitto, BFG, and Hankook all make a tire in that size. I also highly recommend the Hankook Dynapro RT03 if you are looking for a well behaved mud tire.
