HID's not working - Need Help Please

So here's the scenario....

Got in my truck the other night and both my HID's in my headlights would not come on...just the marker lights would come on.

Checked all the fuses( L/R Low Beams) in the truck for headlights and they are all good.

Check the bulbs - fine

I checked all the fuses running from the battery to ballasts- fine.

Checked the relays at the ballasts. Fine, although found out why one of the foglights wasn't working....bad relay.

Checked the grounds - fine.

It seems the ballasts aren't even getting power. I even disconnected part of the HID's so I could reconnect a OEM bulb and it doesn't even light. So my last thought is it may be a bad switch on the dash?...but that doesn't seem right as the marker lights still come on as well as the foglights. It would seem odd that both ballasts would go at the same time so I don't think that would be the issue at this time. I just don't know where else to check to see what may be the reason they aren't working.

Any thoughts or ideas?

So if you take both OEM headlight connectors and connect them to both OEM bulbs, they won't light up? Also, just to be sure, we're talking about the stock headlights, right?

Did you check both the engine bay fuse panel and the in cab fuse panel?

Sounds like the multi function switch to me. I had the same problem and the MFS was the culprit.

I'm having the same problem right now. But I just recently painted my headlights this weekend and I plugged the bulbs back in and WAM! no HID's.

Is the mulit-function switch the swith for the headlights/fog lights? I wonder if that is a high failing item? I just don't understand it because my fog lights work too, it could just be the headlight switch isn't catching when you try to engage, or something. I usually hear a click when I turn my headlights on and even my foglights.

I believe the Multi Function Switch is only used on your headlights and not the fogs. From my understanding the MFS is the switch that controls the high and low beam in the OEM bulb itself.

Have alot of these MFS switches gone out; and if so, what was the timeframe from original installation?

Looking at getting the 35watt 6000k kit for the headlights and fogs with the extra wiring harness from DDM.

Haven't checked this thread in a while. Turns out in all my troubleshooting I missed the simplist of things. Pull back on the MFS to turn the highbeams off and whamo...headlights work again!

Made me feel a little stupid after checking every fuse and connection possible. I still blame the wifey.lol.
