How To Remove Fender Badges?

Anyone know the best way to remove the “F-150” badges on the front fenders of a 09-10? Are they pined? Heat gun?

I want to pop them off and paint them and stick them back on.

thanks

Normally I'd say fishing line and a hairdryer. But you don't want to mess up your badges if you want to re-paint them. So skip the heat gun/hair dryer; and use rubbing alcohol (and lots of it. Also wear gloves when you use the fishing line or you'll cut yourself up pretty bad.

I took off my badges to add my Saleen vents, and this process worked fairly well.

It's the same method. I was able to pull mine off after I got my nail behind an edge and just kept pulling slowly. The glue is a bear to get off the truck but the badge comes off pretty easily, at least mine did. I used goof-off and my fingernails to get the glue off the fender. Careful use of a hairdryer will work to remove the badge also, just keep it moving back and forth so it won't ruin the emblem.

I took my badges of my 08 earlier this afternoon. I used Goo Gone, a hair dryer, and fishing line. Like DarkShadow said, the badge comes off pretty earlily with the hair dryer and I used the fishing line as well for that part. The glue is a b**** to get off... just be patient with it. Also I discovered that the glue comes off better if you pull it away from the truck as opposed to trying to peel it back. After 20 mins of peeling back only a 1/4 of the glue, I accidentally came to this realization and finished the job in less than a minute.

hair dryer, fishing line then 3M adhesive remover or goo gone..just make sure to wax the portion of paint the adhesive remover or goo gone touches to protect the paint

If you are talking about the small strip that runs along the middle of the door to protect against door dings? Yes, it will work. Only problem is that if the vehicle has been parked outdoors etc, the paint may not match the rest of the door paint anymore as there may be some fading that has happened.

Why bother taking them off, just mask those darn things off. That's what I did, much faster and less work.
