Behind Grille Lights

What are some good and reliable lights to go behind the grille of my 2005 Ford F150 Lariat 4X4? I would want 2, one on each side of the Ford badge.

I originally went with the Hella 500 but didn't think I was getting enough light out of them at 55 watt so I upgraded to the Hella 700 with 130 watt bulbs. They are a little bigger in diameter than the 500's and look more proportional with the size of the headlights. Sorry I only have pics of the 500's, they look the same just equal in size to the headlights.

you will have to make your own bracket to mount the lights to. You can put the lights as close together or as far apart as you would like since you have to make the bracket just go with whatever you think looks good.

Since I used the trans cooler bracket as a mounting base for the light mounting bracket and with bigger diameter lights they are pretty limited on how far out from center you can go. To keep them from vibrating I wanted a solid base then used the vertical center support also, no bouncing on or off road.

The mounts are just two "L" brackets bolted together to make a "Z", had to cut one leg down so it didn't rub against the radiator. Very easy to do and kind of a cool mod.

I got Hella 500 and a L shaped bar across the whold radiator compartment, similar to hoss66's setup. Work great. Only downside is i have to have my high beams on to have the Hella's on. I might overide it soon.

instead of splicing into the headlights for power run it straight to your battery, this way you can turn them on and off whenever you want.

Take a peek in my gallery. Basically the bracket was made out of flatbar and angleiron gotta cut and bolt together the pieces. Get a set of hella 500s. Got mine off eBay shipped for 39 bucks. One hell of steal. Threw some 6000k hids in them and wired it all into the cab to a switch mounted next to the cig lighter. Well take some pics if you need them
