ranch hand grill guard fitment

I recently came across a used ranch hand grill guard that came off a 2007 FX4 and the holes dont seem to line up with my 2004 FX4. Do you need any special brackets for the bottom mounts? the top mounts go on just fine but the bottom dont. Do I need to remove the lower bumper? I am beginning to wonder if the grill guard is wrong for my truck, but on the ranch hand website they list only one guard for all years from 04-08. Does anyone have any pictures of the installation so I can see exactly which holes I need to use? Thank You.

Gonna bring back this old post...

I was/am in the same situation you are, I took a grill guard I bought off Craigslist to a ranch hand shop after realizing something wasn't fitting right and they put it on for me, just had to drill new holes on the uprights to make it be straight up. I had it bolted to the holes that came with it and it leaned out significantly.

Hope this helps.
