What are you talking about? He was showing a comparison between sanding down the new emblem or not. If you sand it, it won't show.

If you don't sand it, It will show through no matter what. It may be less noticeable depending on the color and actual decal image, but will still be noticeable regardless.

I know, thats what i meant by flat surface. I meant that i can see how bad it looked not sanded and how good it looked sanded.

thanks, im just trying to get around not having to sand it incase i decide to upgrade and sell me truck with in the next year because i dont think the buyer would want a logo on the truck that meant nothing to him but was specific to me. so if i dont sand them down then i could just peel the decal off and have the badges back to stock.

Go to ebay and search 'ford oval' and there's abut 3- thousand plus listings. Buy yourself a set of replacement ovals (grille and tailgate). Then you can either sand your current ones and replace them when/if you sell --- or you can remove your current ones and save them; sand, cover, mount the ebay ones and then pull and replace them with the originals when/if you sell. You can get ovals of all sizes pretty cheap.

Same here. Looks like it would be a paint to apply and get out air bubbles though.

trick to applying decals with no or minimal bubbles is to mist the back of the decal with water then apply the decal, center it, then squeegee out the water while adding some heat from a heat gun or a hair dryer....works like a charm if you just take your time
