I like Ford and Patriot Decals just fine, but Patriot Decals wasn't playing it safe. I wish them the best, and I sure hope they don't go out of business because of it. Ford will lose a lot of respect if they sue the crap out of them. I hope they can reach a settlement of a reasonable amount.

Stopping your support for the Ford name should not be determined by something as common as a lawsuit over trademark infringement. I'm sure Patriot new full and well what the consequences could entail if caught selling products with the Ford name. I hate to think someone would consider dropping a brand over something as common as this. It doesn't matter if "John Doe small home business" is doing it or if a world-wide known company is doing it, it is illegal and is in no way located in fine print, everyone knows this and while i fully agree it is sad that this has happened, take a second and look at the big picture here, Ford isn't out to get all the "little guys" money, there just following protocol...furthermore, this in no way changes the quality of the vehicle you're driving or the fact that they have held up better in these tough financial times than most automobile manufacturer's out there.

TL;DR ...read it anyway.

x2 about ford going after them... patriot decals was being stupid, like he said... its not in fine print, its common knowledge. But I still hope ford doesnt sue the heck out of them. They deserve to get some money out of them, but how much, I dunno...

Everyone who is saying patriotdecals are in the wrong and stupid, are hypocrites. Everyone messes up, everyone breaks the law, patriotdecal I believe weren't making a huge profit off the decals, I believe they charged enough to just cover the cost of creating the decals and cover shipping.

If thats the case then thats not very good business to me. When you have a business you have to make more than just what you have in a product or you will fail eventually. I liked their decals and overlays but come on they had to know they were taking a chance.

i agree with xtreme, they are making money off of a trademarked logo that they didn't create...granted is still say's "ford" but they are making money off of a design that they weren't a part of, like i said before hopefully they can continue to make the product but give some of their proceeds back to ford....i'd be pretty p*ssed too if i designed a logo and then somebody made a profit (in different colors) off of something that i created....patriot had to see this coming...

It's not patriotdecals fault for being creative, it's Fords fault for not coming up with an idea like this. For those who are saying they are stupid fr even making money off the logo, have you bought any decals from them?

I'm all for small businesses. However, you (and others) are not looking at this from a business standpoint. FORD has to protect what is theirs. What if they just let anyone create things with their logo? Ford is no different than Coke, Budweiser, Apple, or the US Marines.

Exactly Marky, just because there a home business doesn't mean they can be treated any differently...its a business regardless.

I'm very disappointed that we wont be able to get these overlays and whatnot anymore. It's one of those little details that make a lot of difference and I was just about to order the decals to do my whole truck.

The guys who are all bent about Ford enforcing the rights to their logo and trademarks simply are not living in the real world. These properties are real assets to any company, and Ford would have to be insane not to protect them......

That being said, I sure wish I had ordered my fender badge overlays before this all went down......
