My HID saga --> Replaced with Silverstars!
You probably won't find anything that's stock wattage and "white" that'll be brighter than stock.
It kind of sucks for you guys since you can't use HIR bulbs. There's two different bulbs, and can be made to fit in 9005 (the high beam version) and 9006 (the low beam version.) They use the stock wattage, yet are a lot brighter than stock, mostly because of a coating that reflects back IR to the filament, making it burn brighter.
Some numbers I found:
9006 - 55 watts - 1000 lumens
9005 - 65 watts - 1700 lumens
9012 - 55 watts - 1870 lumens
9011 - 65 watts - 2350 lumens
D2R HID capsule - 35 watts - 2800 lumens
I guess you guys could try putting some in your fogs...
Do not run Sylvania/U.S. Silverstars, they're a total gimmick. They are junk. Osram Silverstars (Euro version) are much better.
Philips Xtreme Power (best visibility) and Osram NightBreakers (if you want something "whiter") are the best halogens you can get (besides HIR's).
And HID's don't belong in non-HID housings (whether they're so called "projectors" or not).
Here's a site for GREAT info on halogens, HID's, etc.

My truck is 2wd with 2.5" leveling kit and 265/70/17's I get flashed alot with stock lights.. I wanted white ones just cuz I dont like the yellowish look of the stocks.. I'm now running Xenon 6k bright whites. I have no way of proving theyre really 6k but they light up way better than stock. I have never adjusted my lights. dont plan on it.. when ever I get flashed I flash back.. Not an ahole but I know that my truck maybe bright but its not as bad as HIDs theres a lot of those retro-fits running around here.. they suck..

Thanks for posting this. I occasionally get flashed (not often, but I do) and I'm not wanting to take the chance of running them for much longer. So if I wanted the pure white look on halogen bulbs I should go with the Osram NightBreakers mentioned above?
i had a friend of mine drive my truck to see how bright mine were..BLINDINGLY bright...so i went to adjst them down and broke a bulb...so i put my silverstars back in....i wont go back with HID's
yeah you'll get a white look with the Osrams, Silverstars or the Phillips Xtreme whites. I was the same way, I would only get flashed occasionally. But while most people don't flash you doesn't mean they are content with your lights in their face. It might just **** somebody off enough to run you off the road...that was enough for me.

Retro-solutions can "dip" the bulbs for you to make the cutoffs in the foglights and headlights. I think it only costs like 10 extra. If a guy ran me off the road I would have turned around and followed him until he stopped.
Dipping the bulbs wont do anything. A filament is a straight line with sharp light cutoff, where the HID bulb produces light in an arc pattern. Therefore even if the HID bulb hits the focal point of the chrome housing perfectly it will never give that straight line light pattern of the filament and will always scatter light.
