Overhead Storage Cb

Hey guys, Ridiculously new to the forums (first post) and don't know ware to put this, so here it goes !

I'm wondering if anybody's ever set up a cb unit on the overhead storage rails before, or if anybody makes a pre-fab unit like this. Hopefully you guys know what I'm talking about because after a couple of hours of searching I came up with nothing.

Thanks for any help in advance !
-Lewis.

well i've been thinking about this same setup. i would imagine someone makes a bracket for this otherwise i been looking at taking a dremel to the storage bin thats there. the existing hole in the headliner would be greatly benificial in this application. I have been looking at removing that worthless storage or whatever you wanna call it that sits under the cupholder on my non-flowthru console lariat ext cab. I seem to think a cobra 29 or somting like that with a front mic connection would fit in that spot. could even use whats left of that bin to make a surround. when u take your time and plan anything can be made to look factory. hope this helps and it's not just aimless ramble.
thanks
Austin

I'm not sure first of all, what overhead do you have. Is it the rail system, or just the single overhead bin. Also, what radio are you looking to put in it, I'm not sure that it is big enough for a larger radio such as the Cobra 29 Unit. I believe if the radio was small enough it could be done, but I don't think that I have seen anyone put their radio there or any brackets sold for an application like this. You would be on your own here.

I have the XLT, with the large center console and my plans are to mount it on the back wall of the console. This way I can still store things there, but have the CB handy, I would run an external speaker so I could tune a channel, close the lid and not have to worry about it anymore. Would be nice, because I don't want it sitting out in the open, I like the cleanness of the interior.
