My gallery isn't working right now (in sig line) but I have a black 4x4 with the small Lund scoops on the hood. The 3M tape is starting to fail and I have factory paint flaws in the hood and roof. I have been meaning to get total Line-X encasement for years now, but locally this will run about $3,000.

My cousin has his garage setup for body work and says he can repaint the hood, roof, and tailgate black, with some metallic charcoal racing stripes, and wetsand the sides to make it all look good for under $1,000. I am undecided between stripes and a single fat line down the middle that follows the contours of the hood.

Questions:

- Can this be pulled off properly or does this sound like trouble?

- What is the preferred method for permanently attaching the ABS scoops? I'm not opposed to rivets, but what kind, how many, and do I need to restick them with new 3M? I'll probably make them "functional" in that they dump fresh air on top of the upper intake & manifold.

Anyone have pics of different stripes on the older F150's?
