Bull bar

I am considering putting a Westin or Smitty built bull bar on my truck. My truck does not have the tow hooks in the fron so they say you have to cut the valence. Has anyone done this? What did you use to cut it with?

Dremel tool will work...I used a utility leatherman tool with a small saw on it...hacksaw will also work with a file for the edges.

I have an FX4 but mine was missing the tow hooks when I bought it as well as the front bumper was not cut...Im assuming the previous owner attempted to pull it out with the tows as no other damage is present and one of the old tow hook bolts in the frame rail was sheared off and still inside the rail.

Its easy..just take it off the truck..bunch of small screws and flip it over and start cutting..took about 15 minutes for me to do

Definitely wish I had a dremmel tool when I did mine. It would have made the project so much easier. But yea, I used sheet metal side cutters and a file to do mine. Turned out pretty good actually. Good luck with your install.
