I have the Recon Extreme Bar 60" and I just plugged the main part into the 4pin connector and then hardwired the turn signals I believe.. Can't remember now.

But I know I had to purchase a Relay for my truck because it was missing one from factory.. Took me about a week to figure out what the problem was. But I love mine with the scanning ambers.

Also I'm pretty sure that some 04-08's have a pin on the tailgate that you will have to have removed. I just took a grinder and cut mine off... pretty simple.

This was how I installed mine

Red to Orange
White to Black w/ Pink
4-Pin to 4-Pin

Here is the Relay I had to pick up

The relay I bought at AutoZone for $6.99. Here is the Relay. Duralast Part # 19273

Goes into the Relay #5 in the Passenger Side Kick Panel. Some people have had the relay already available in a bag in their glove box, others have had to buy it. Took me a while to find the part in AutoZone. It is for the Towing Battery Charger or something like that

Delfate -- Make sure you have that Realy #5... It took me a long time before I figured out that was my problem when trying to hardwire

Alright, ill check for the relay, but I guess I don't get how it would work fine in the 4 pin but as soon as I hardwired it, it stopped working... I still feel the ground is the culpret, but ill look into that relay and see what I find

Yeah... The ground is more likely your problem. But the relay might be worth looking at as well. Did you make sure all your connections were tight

Yep, I used T-Taps and they're all snug, but the white ground wire coming off the 7 pin is a huge B and didn't feel real great, so I think my connection is sucky. Also just noticed that my reverse camera isn't working right anymore. Its always something!

Haha... Sure is!

Yeah I first tried to use T-Taps but decided against it because they couldn't provide a good enough connection.. Plus there will be a lot of water/snow/crap back there so I didn't want it to get into the connection.

And why tap into the 7pin. Do you not have a 4pin?

Yes, I have both. But the hookups share the wires, my 7 pin and 4 pin are on the same... Box I guess. I'm gonna take off the TTaps and use regular conectors and see where I get as well as changing my ground location. I also gotta figure out why the camera is effed up. Hopefully that's a simple fix.

I'm thinking about adding an LED tailgate light bar but I have seen so many on the roads that are burnt out, half work or just plain ****ty looking! Do any of you guys have a recommendation an a decent product?

So far, I like the looks of the Recon Xtreme with turn signals https://4wdlife.com/best-tailgate-light-bars#3 and also the Plasmaglow Firestorm Scanning light bar http://www.plasmaglow.com/firestorm-led-tailgate-bar/. I think I like the sequential turn signals! Are either of these brands any good or is there something better? I have seen some bad reviews about putco and especially opt7.
