FIX: HID Lo/Hi problems with foglights

Ok. If you bought a bi xenon HID kit for your 04-08 F150(I'm not 100% sure this will work for later models) and also have foglights this is for you. This fixes the problem of when you have the foglights on the high beam light on the dash is just dimly lit and the high low function in the headlights doesnt work. This is all due to there not being enough resistance causing the foglights to back feed into the dash. This backfeeding is what dimly lights up your Hi indicator in the dash. When you run your bi xenon kit, you will receive a separate module that controls the Hi/Lo. This module only has 1 plug that goes where that factory bulb plugged in, but this also has wires leading to your ballasts. The other plug(usually on the drivers side) is unused.

1. Take your unused headlight plug. Expose the Yellowish wire(Hi +), and the black(-). You do not need to touch the blue wire. Splice a longer wire into each of the (Hi +) and the ground(black-middle wire). From here you can connect either a resistor(60ohm min, but I wouldnt recommend this because it creates a lot of heat, and I have heard of them melting wiring harnesses) or you can do what I did. Solder the 2 wires coming off the headlight connector into a 12v lightbulbs posts. I used a regular 12v yellow parking lamp. I used the lightbulb because it creates so much less heat than the resistor. Cover your wires that you soldered to the light bulb to protect it from shorting out. Now this creates resistance and fixes the problem. Although, the yellow light will light up when you have your Hi's on. Now mount the light bulb in a safe location.

I am unsure of anyother fixes people found, but this one does work.

You can also do the "Bambi mod." That way you won't have a random light on when you have your high beams, as well as letting you run the fogs when you have the highs on.
