herculiner?

ive been considering using herculiner on my rockers and possibly even creating flares around my fenders. has anyone had any luck, or disliked herculiner? any pictures?

If you are going to have something like your rockers and fenders done in bed liner material you should really consider getting it professionally done with something like Line-X. It can be done in many different colors and will look better than the herculiner when you are done. If it was something like under body or frame protection then the herculiner would probably look fine. But since you are going to be doing a place on the body that will be visible you may want to consider the Line-X.

Now I'm sure that people will see this thread and start another argument about the whole pro vs. DIY liner stuff but for something as visible as the body I wouldn't do anything other than pro.

i always want to try that product whenever i go to like Autozone or something then again like stated above id rather have it done professionally especially sense its something visible like that. But these are just our opinions. Ive been wanting to do everything underneath my bed and cab but just dont know if i want to do it myself or pay

i agree with both of you, id much rather have it done by a pro but ive heard its really expensive. my cousin did his rockers himself and they look great, its just the fenders im wondering about. i dont even know if that would look right? thats why i was hoping some one else on here already did it and had pics

I would go with a line-x if you want it to last. The herculiner is a cheaper bedliner and wont hold up as well.

i remember seeing pics of someone would had an 06 with a 6" RCX and he herculined the bumpers.

it looked decent

but id say if you want it to last and look good, get it done professionally

agreed with everyone before me with getting it done professionally. my rockers cost me 400 which imo wasnt that bad for the work required.

another thing to add, Line-x extra wont fade over time, just something to consider since your doing the exterior

hmm yeah 400 isnt bad at all. now im just stuck on deciding if the fenders would look good with line x. itd look like a fender flare im guessing, but id really like to see it before i go and do something permanent

i did my bed with herculiner.. i sanded it down to bare metal and rolled it on, ive had no problems as far as peeling or chipping but i does fade quite fast, if you do end up using herculiner id say paint over it with a quality paint and youll get the texture and the color
