want to paint toolbox

i have an aluminum tool box that has lost its shine wondering if i can paint it black? suggestions on paint and how to prep.

I too have been wondering about doing this. I'm sure it cant be too hard to do. Wish I would of went with black to begin with.

scuff it with a green scotch bright pad then once the shine is off prime it and then spray paint it with krylon fusion or rustoleum then clear coat if desired i used rustoleum high perfromance gloss black no clear coat as its under my tonneau cover

Mine was black but it was chipping really bad so I got a electric drill and put a rough wheel on it to scuff it up real good and just went over it with Spray bed liner in a can. Works good and looks good once you get the coats nice and even.

I have heard of guys line x-ing the inside and outside of theirs

It holds up real well obviously
