Emblems Painted?

Has anyone ever painted their emblems? I have a dark grey truck and am going with the all black theme, since i dont want to remove the emblems because for some reason ford decides to put holes in their trucks...

I was thinking of taping off the whole truck really well then going at the emblems with spray paint? any thoughts? has any one attempted anything like this?
Thanks

Tsala

I painted all my decals black. I traced the decal to a piece of paper then cut it out on a piece of card board. I taped off the truck around the decals so paint would not get on the truck. Worked good for me I'm happy with it. Good luck!

This has been done by A LOT of members. KR-texas has a great write up on it as do some other members. Searching is the best way to find answers to your questions in the future.

That sounds like how I've done taillights on my trucks lol but not the emblems

On the 09s I sanded em up with 320, ahesion promotor, then paint. Didn't use clear coat and on plastic trim I wouldn't bother. If the clear coat doesn't hold up well and ur picky like me then you'll end up doin more work than its worth touching them up in the long run in the clear coat peels. Had it happen on a set of hood scoops on my last truck.
