Looking for tails

I'm looking for the tails, I think they come OEM on the newer Harley Davidson models. They are all red as the normal ones, but the backup middle portion of the tail I believe is slightly smoked or greyed. Anyone know where to find these?

These are for an '08 F150 FX2

The Harley tails are lightly smoked all over, but only slightly noticeable over the clear part.

I think alot of people get them from Tasca Ford parts

My buddy actually has a set of stock tails that he is tinting and selling, also a thrid brake light so they all match. Shoot me a PM if interested in them or try any ford dealer for the Harley tails, but they are not dark enough for me

I just found them on Tasca for 100$ for the pair. Although, its showing they fit the 04-07. Looks like I'm out of luck with my 08 FX2?

It will still fit the 08. But if in doubt call up tasca and they should be able to tell you for sure.

Ok. I just checked with them, they do in fact fit years 04-08. It was $90 plus shipping.

I agree they are not very dark, but they are not actually smoked or tinted. All Ford did was change out the housing behind the lights with black plastic, instead of white. You can see the black ribbed plastic in the picture below at the front of the reverse light opening and surrounding the brake light.

I think it is the exact same red lens, but they look darker due to the black background and they are legal in all 50 states.

To me, it's worth it. Even if they aren't actually smoked. I think they look great on darker trucks.

Sorry to bump this a little bit. Just have a quick question.

Been looking at getting these in the near future and wondering if they needed to be sealed. I know a lot of people on here say that the headlights need to be sealed before they're put in, and didn't know if that also applied to the tails as well. And if they need to be sealed, what is the best way to go about sealing them, and what should I use?

Thanks guys

I think most people only seal the after market heads not the OEM, the Harley tails that he is looking at getting are OEM just on the Harley trucks, never heard of anyone sealing them or anyone having issues because they are not sealed

Okay that sounds about right. I just didn't wanna drop all the cash for the heads and tails and not seal them and end up with all the condensation issues people have talked about.

Thanks man, I appreciate it.

The front lights are the ones with the condensation problems. I did not do anything special with my HD tails, but exchange them with my old ones. It is a very easy job and took about 5 minutes total.
