Hi everyone. Been out of the loop for quite sometime. Had two boys within 2.5 years! Thank God I still have my FX4!

I have been looking for white half mirror covers for my 2005 FX4. This has been a nightmare. The only ones I can find are chrome aftermarket/OEM. I want them to be white to obviously match the body color. I was thinking of picking up the chrome ones and painting them. Any input to whether or not this would work/look good? I am sure that I can get the white ones at a dealer, but of course I do not want to break the bank.

Secondly, do the stock covers simply adhere to the mirror via tape or are they actually an integral part of the mirror? I can't see how sticking on the mirror covers would look good.

I painted my chrome mirror covers. Check out my album and see what it looks like. Tell me what you think. Its such an easy job to do.

 

He is right. Alot of people paint the chrome mirror covers to match. It should be no big deal, and it will look alot better.

 

there are no oem mirror skull caps for the 04-05's , they came out with them for the 06-08's

what you can do is take off the mirror cover and get the top half painted
