Bubbles in tint

Simply, what is acceptable and what isn't? Just had mine redone because of a couple dozen tiny bubbles in both door windows. Now I have several in both. Is having none, asking too much?

I dont have any.....I did on my mustang and had to have them redo the window...

It should take a couple of days to get the bubbles absorbed out of the film, If it hasn't cleared up in 3 days I would take a hairdryer to it at about 12" and see if it will come out...if not, they need to redo it.

How long has it been done since done? Sometimes it takes a few days in the sun for the tint to shrink to the window.

I wouldn't tolerate any bubbles after 2 weeks. Your spending your hard earned money on it, make sure its done right.

I used to tint way back in the day. All the advice given is right on target. It is normal to have a few, and some will go away with some time. It does sound like you have quite a few though? But if your not happy with it take it back and have it redone! Just be nice about it. Sometimes the bubbles occur after it leaves the shop. If you do have it redone, keep an eye on it for the next few hours after you leave. If any bubbles do appear use a hairdryer and a squeegy with very light pressure to work out any. If you can park in the sun that usually helps speed things along drying wise!

x2 I'm just agreeing with the others....give it a few days. Mine has always dissappeared within about 5 days to a week.

If they are a reputable shop, they will not have any problems re-doing them. The cost is mostly labor and a happy customer will recommend them to others.

If the bubbles are there after 3-5 days it is 100% the installers fault. Take it back and have it redone.

2-3 days mine was out. Also the longer you keep your windows up the shorter time it takes. I know alot of the well known shops that usually wont have to get redone use a TON of windex when applying b.c when they do that there not air bubbles but actually little water pockets that evaporate out.

it depends on what kind of bubbles.
if you can see through them, then it's a water bubble and they should be gone in 3 to 5 days. if it has kind of a silver tint to it, then it's an air bubble and you should have that checked out.
and i agree with Texas on this one if they value their customers, they won't have a problem making it right.
good luck!
