I did this on my ranger and am going to do it on the F150 as soon as my can of nightshade arrives.

Buy nightshade, (available almost anywhere online)
Tape off reverse light
Prep surface
Apply coats (These were prob 5-6 coats, extremely dark)
Apply clear coat - wet sand - buff - for a glossy finish, nightshade outta the can is naturally flat

Best Pic I have lit up

I'm not sure exactly what you mean by 'tint', like window tint? Cuz I would highly recommend not doing that to your taillights if you plan to keep them for an extended period of time. I've seen a couple products similar to nightshade on ebay, nightshade is just easy to come by and it worked well for me already so I'll stick to that.

Yes the nightshade does come out flat, that can easily be remedied by spraying a few coats of gloss clear coat, you can get a better surface and more gloss by wet sanding with something like 2000-3000 then polishing it up with some plastX. I don't have any body shop experience or fancy tools and did everything by hand in a few hours. Very simple procedure as long as you're patient

951!!!

HAHA Im from the 760 in the IE. I have been looking into tinting my tails too. Seems like most people here use the nightshade in a can. It comes with directions etc...

If you dont want to do it, I have been keeping an eye on this guy on evilbay that does it and has a set of our lights up now for 160ish and he even buys back your old ones. They look really good.
