i got my 09 fx4 emblems today i want to install them this weekend, what is the best way to remove the old ones and the adhesive...thanks

Some people use fishing line. I just started at one end with a small screw driver (be careful not to scratch the paint) and just slowly started to pull away from the body. You can get in between the 3M tape and the badge.

The 3M tape thats left I just rub off with my thumb. Cleaned up with Exnol sp?

Install your new badges. Did mine in "about" 20 min`s.

 

i used an old guitar string, it was the small string off my acoustic, worked like a charm

I heated mine up for about 5 mins moving left to right very slow and about half an inch from the emblem. Then pulled with my fingers it came off almost with no effot. I then wet a paper towl with acetone and wiped with a wet paper towl after to remove the left over gunk.

 

Easiest way is the use fishing line to get the badge off. After that push the leftover adhesive in towards the center. There is actually a hole in the truck under the adhesive... push a hole in it. after that pull the adhesive off the truck, dont pull straight out... pull away from the hole keeping close to the truck... the whole adhesive piece will come right off. Basically its like a 3M tab where if you stretch it the adhesive gives way.
