Just a couple things to add....

3M makes all kinds of two sided tape. The stuff you want is specificallty for automtive (outdoor) use. If it was not this type, you would be better off using a different brand of automtive two sided tape. Honestly, I don't remember if the stuff I used was made by 3M or not. But it's REALLY tough stuff. I know, because it was just as hard to take off my oval the second time, to re-do it, as it was originally.

The other thing is, the fishing line trick works pretty well..... but if your having cold, or cloudy weather (I did mine in the Winter) you can use one of those proffessional heatguns (the ones that look like a nuclear hair dryer ;-) Be very careful though.... those can actually burn / peel paint if you get carried away.

Peace,
Fish

bottom line is if you use 3M tape and clean the area first, it wont come off from any washing or whatnot you do
I guess you just sold me on 3Ms relability.

I live in really warm weather so would a regular ol' hairdryer suffice?

Hey man love the badges, what color and brand of paint did you use? Alot of people on here have been using Krylon Fusion paints.

Last few questions for you guys and I promise I'll be out of your hair.
-Did you folks scuff your badges before paint?
-How many coats did you use?
-And for those of you who used Krylon Fusion paints, is the finish matte or glossed?

thanks.....

I used a hair dryer and my fingers. I didnt sand them and used about 6 or 7 coats. The finish was matte.
