will this work for the lenses?

i see most everyone uses the night shades to tint there tails , cargo and headlights. i was curious i have some auto clearcoat paint and auto black paint could i mix the black with the clear to tint it and then spray a plastic adhesion promoter on the inside and then tint the inside of the lenses with the mixed auto paint to get the effect without screwing up my lenses?

Just did a set yesterday!! Doesnt take much black at all!! After a lil wet sanding and buffing the look like glass!
I just hit them w/ 600 and sprayed 5 coats.
Im doing my fog lens tomorrow, so Ill have some pics ASAP!

ok thanks did you have to spray the lense with a plastic adhesion promoter or just spray it with the tinted clear. and are you spraying the outside or the inside?

no promoter...Just scuff them up with 600 grit sand paper. spray the outside. Just play with the ratio until you get it right. I found a old tail light to practice on. They looked just as good as my VHT tails but only took 1/4 of the time and effort!
