Bushwacker Flares
Bushwacker Flares
So I was wondering...if your tires stick out 1.5"-2" past your fenders, is that really going to damage your paint that much?
If so, are bushwacker flares the best way to remedy this? Has anyone used the extend-a-flares? I have seen plenty of pocket flares, but they don't really match the look of my truck. Thanks for any advice.

i have had several lifted truck and yes wide tires will ruin the paint. i had a lifted ford ranger and by the time i rolled it(not pin intended, i really did) the front and rear bottom of the box was bare of paint, the salt from the winter ate right thru the paint. my silverado was rusting on the rear of the box from chips. not to mention chips and dings you can get from rocks flinging off the tires. the front tires stuck out almost 4 inches in the front, flares are a must when they stick out that much IMO. i run the bushwackers on my truck, they look fine to me.

Also, does your lift push out your trac width at all? I know that can stick the tires out even more. If so, do you know how much it pushes them out?
