I am repairing a salvage 06 Super Crew that had serious front end damage.

I bought what I thought was the correct bumper (with square fog openings) and bumper cover. But now that I am trying to attach them there is a large gap between the two. I can't make the bumper cover fit to the bumper and I am wondering if I purchased the wrong items. There is an insert in the bumper that seems to hold it up too high?

If it matters, the truck was manufactured in May 06.

Is there any place to research part numbers, etc?

I appreciate your help.

im pretty sure they changed the brackets in 06, 05's (like mine) have the square fogs whereas those were prob round

 

04-05 was square fogs and 06-08 was round...different mounting methods for the bumper too supposedly.

 

yea you need one with the round fog lights. what kinda bumper do you have, chrome or painted? i want a chrome front bumper with the rectangle fog lights but they are on national backorder, so if you have one ill buy it.

the part number for chrome with fog lights for 04-05 is (4L3Z-17906-AB). im not sure what it is for 06-08 but here is a site that has them.

Early 06 models had square. Late 06 models had round. (Can't remember the build date for the changeover) Go figure. Keeps things interesting when ordering repair parts.

 

at least they changed the look of the bumper opening so you can tell the difference
