'02 headlight assembly removal

I'm trying to remove my stock headlight assembly (corners are seperate and are staying put) to replace with a lightning assembly. I've removed the top plastic splash guard and have pulled up on the two retaining tabs. The headlights wiggle some, but there is something else hanging them up. What might I be missing? The wiring is disconnected so I know it is not that. Any ideas or suggestions? I have to get them back up and running for night driving.

Vehicle: 2002 F-150 Supercrew Lariat FX4

Figured it out. Tabs were up high enough, but they still wouldnt slide out. As soon as I removed the corners the headlight assembly slid right out. I had more trouble putting the corners back in then I did the headlights. All i all, the change over took me a straight 20 mins for all 4 assemblies.

I changed out the assemblies. I wanted to convert from the stock (frosted) lens on my 2002 F-150 to the lightning model (clear) and eventualy will go HID's. I found a set of lightning headlight assemblies (2000 F-150) with corners/signals on ebay. Seller had the title misspelled with no spaces and it wasnt coming up on search engines. I got all 4 pieces for $35.00. They even came with the blue tint H5 9007 bulbs.

Now that I'm an expert on this (LOL) I am waiting to order my 8000k bi-xenon HID conersation kit.

I couldnt believe it either. He had the title as "2000 F150 headlihgts&corners" Starting price was $35.00 and other than one other person who had asked a question, no one else found it. He had only 1 bid and that was mine for the $35.00 plus shipping. They work great.
Best deals on ebay are found with misspellings in the titles. Search engine dont do spell check.

in my 2002 F-150 there is a star screw on the top of them, easy to get to. Remove the screw and they slide out on guides. They go back in just as easily.

LOL. Glad I could help. I originally thought that once I lifted the tabs the headlights would just slide out. It was out of frustration and learning how to cuss in several new languages that I took out the corner piece and THEN, the headlight just slide out. Makes everything so much easier.

Have fun.
