Problem with HIDs

I installed a set of HIDs for my fog lights and headlights. Fogs are 35w and heads are 55w. When both are on my headslights are automaticly highbeams. When I turn the fog lights off the headlights dim to low. With both on and I flip my high beams on and fog lights turn off and headlights stay high.

Has anyone else had this problem?

You have the high beam and low beam wires backwards.

I have a similar problem with my HIDs, when I turn my headlights on *not highs* they dont come on, but when I flip to the highbeams they come on, which is fine, but its just one of those things that bugs the hell out of me. Did I do something wrong?

BTW, this is the kit and seller I got mine from off ebay

What about this issue. My buddy cuts his lights on (low beam) and everything is all good. Once he turns his fog lights on they come on but the High beam indicator inside the truck illuminates also. How do you fix this?

I think doing what the link that NoLongerJeepin gave should solve your problem.

YES my highbeam indicator is on TOO, BUT not bright! It lights up just barely. But when I turn my brights on the indicator lights up fully.

nolongerjeepin, I have been meaning to look up that fix as well, even if it doesn't fix my problem I have now I will still do it and post to let you guys know incase someone else has this problem!

When the truck comes out of the factory it's set up so the fogs won't come on with highbeams. The ground from the fogs is the signal wire to shut them off when the highbeams come on. When you install an HID kit it messes up this system. This mod provides the fogs with their own ground and solves the problem.

I had this issue with mine when I first installed my kit. This mod fixed it. It should cost you about $0.50 and take about 10 min.

What he^^ said.

I know that problem had been asked before in the huge HID thread that got deleted, but I just couldn't remember the exact reason why grounding the fogs fixed it.
