Tint...Dyed vs Metallized

A few months ago I was looking into getting all the windows in my SCrew tinted. From what I've read metallized tint is better/more durable that dyed tint. I talked to a reputable tint shop in my area about install and was told that the metallized tint would not blend well over the factory tint on my rear doors and rear window, so they suggested dyed. I took their word for it since the metallized tint would have been an upsale.

I've recently seen some posts on here from guys who went with precut tint from Northern Tint and did the install themselves. I'm thinking about trying this myself, but Northern Tint's website says all they sale is metallized tint. Has anyone had metallizd tint installed over factory, and if so have you noticed any blending issues? I've tried to call Northern Tint several times, even left messages for them, but they haven't called me back.

I have the metallized on the front windows. There is a slight difference if you really look at it. I no longer notice it. It really does a good screening job.

I have installed Tint on many vehciles, (way to make some cash on the weekends) and any good tint job will not turn purple over time. If you have a decent tint material it won't turn purple. I live in the middle of the desert and the sun beats down constantly on my vehicle and I have never had problems with tint turning purple. Just my $.02

I think my front tint is dyed. It's supposed to be guaranteed for life against turning purple. Cost me 60 for the 2 front windows.
