The only issue I have with this plan of action is using 91/93 Oct. to get the performance... I know, I'm a cheap SOB.

I'd opt for a decent Cat-Back exhaust...I had a muffler guy (who happens to be one of good friend's dad ) hack off the factory 55-gallon trap and weld in a SI-DO muffler and dump the tips out over the back axle for 200 bucks flat.

Mind you, it wasn't a real high dollar muffler. No flowmaster or magnaflow here :o but it still gives it a good noise!

First mod was a Gibson Stainless Cat-back.

I'm quite happy with my 87 Performance tune from PHP. Also, many found that running Level 3 on the Edge gave them enough fuel economy to pay the difference in the cost of 93. I did.

I have an edge with PHP custom tunes (87 perf, 93 perf) and couldn't be happier.

What is the general thought of running a stock Edge, on Lvl 3 with 87?

You'd have to adjust the timing accordingly. Lvl 3 is to be ran with 91 octane.

No! Don't do it. If you must use 87 with the Edge, then run Level 2. It is still a great improvement over stock, it just starts losing torque over 2000 rpms. It generates more torque in the lower range than level 3. You will be impressed with the gains of level 2 compared to stock.

As for your question regarding time and labor, or whatnot, for the leveling kit. Took me about 2.5 hours working on it by myself. Would have certainly gone faster with an extra set of hands!

I have never put mine on the 91/93 performance tune yet. I only run 87 (cheap like you ) but the difference in stock and level 2 is night and day.

Tint / 1.5" leveling kit / 18" Magnaflow

Save up for the Gryphon or Xcal after that.
