I dont think I am the only one wondering this... but, when you go with black headlights, what is the difference in the light pattern with the heads that are all black except for the light bowls compared to the ones that have the semi-circular part going away from the light bowl chrome and not painted black.

DOes that part of the headlight have a purpose regarding the light pattern? Does it help create a consistant beam with a good cutoff?\

Any and all opinions welcome! Just been wondering this for a very very long time. I have HID's and dont like the look of the available projectors. Currenty have the ones that are all black except for the reflector bowls. Wanna improve light-pattern. Ones with the extra reflection surface better?

I hope you can all figure out what I am talking about! Kinda confusing. I will post pics if needed.

 

You're going to have slightly less light due to less chrome for the light to reflect off of. There really isnt anything you can do about it. You might want to try painting the headlights gloss black. That might help a bit.


And size down your sig that thing is huge.

 

Hmmm. I dont know if you knew exactly what I was talking about. If you have two black headlights... one is completely black (except for the reflector bowls) and the other is painted black but those pieces going out away from the truck are also not painted. When those are left chrome, how does it affect the light pattern? (onto a wall or ground)

It shouldnt make any difference either way. The chrome does nothing for reflecting the light, its just there for looks. Only the center full circle does any reflecting. And on the blinker circle, i dont think it makes a diifference if you paint it too.

I wouldnt bet my life on this information but i would bet at least $10. haha just playin, I think im right though
