has anyone ever tried this, instead of getting lift to accommodate bigger tires why not get fenders with a bigger tire hole

 

like maybe putting long travel fenders on a car that isnt long traveled

 

Because tires rub on other things besides fenders. If you run 35x12.5 on stock wheels it will work but it will rub on the upper control arm. You might be able to get away with some 35s on an after market wheel with different back spacing, but it would look goofy IMO. What size tires are you looking to run?
