hid problem

Ive got the Xentech in both headlight and fogs and until recently one of my fogs will come on only sometimes. I checked all the connections and they are good. Has anyone else experienced this or know a solution

If your connections are all correct and not falling out, then you have either a blown ballast or bulb.

HID4U + Xantec have a warranty... shoot him an e-mail and he should take care of you.

ALSO: You can try to see exactly what the problem is. Switch the other fog bulb into the one you think is bad and see if it works. If it does, its the bulb... if it doesn't... then its the ballast.

Re-check all your connections as well (Unplug everything and plug back in)... and your grounds... make sure they are all snug.

good luck getting an email back within 2-3 days and when you get one it is a general email saying to send back the deffective product, then it takes them 5 days to process and then to ship back, him being in cali and us in auburn your looking at 2 weeks, Im going through an issue with this guy over a whole headlight kit, I wish I would have never bought from him!

Guys. You need a relay. The bixenon HIDs come with one. Regular HID kits (inculding fog kits) dont come with one.

When HIDs ignite, they require a lot of power. Before i put a relay on my fogs, often times only 1 foglight would ignite. The other might come on 5-10 mins later, but sometimes not at all. The stock wiring system cannot handle all the ignition power, so you need a relay to the battery.

Search HID harness on Ebay, they are like 8 bucks and will solve everything.

Something like this:

LOL go back and read your thread about your HIDs, i commented there. You said your bixenon bulbs were "loose" and that they were the wrong ones. It turns out that bixenon bulbs are SUPPOSED to be looses, so they can move up and down to reproduce and mimic high and low beams. You actually had the correct product. :o

If you have bixenon HIDs in the heads, you will only need 1 relay harness for the fogs. If you just have a generic HID system for the heads (not bixenon) then you will need an additional harness for the headlights. so 2 total.

Glad i could help. The relay will help it to always ignite both bulbs, and will also protect your HID system from damage due to lack of power etc.

Ahh mSall, your right... I completely forgot to ask if he had a relay setup.

Hey BTW mS, remember our thread about the HID's flipping to high-beams before shutting off???

Bulbs were upside down and hi/low connection was wrong. Flipped the bulbs and the wires and now they work fine! You might want to look into that on yours.

I'll look into it. I'm pretty sure my bulbs wont fit the other way around though.

In my situation it ended up with both bulbs with the writing on the back of the bulb upside down... and I believe wire connections coming out of the bulb near the top too.

Check it out, let me know what you find.
