Mirrors and door handles

What's up guys? I am looking into getting the "skull caps" and door handles for my '06 Lariat in white. Who has done this, how difficult were the door handles to swap out and where did you get the parts from? I am also looking for a cost on the parts if you don't mind?

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide me!!

If you look at our website www.TascaParts.com we have the MarkLt handles which are Painted with the chrome pull handles or you can go with the HD handles which are a complete paint to match set up so the whole handle will can be white. As for the skull caps not every mirror has a replaceable skull cap. You would need to make sure yours is removable first. If your mirror takes the caps we carry them as well and those would need to be painted.

Thanks for the link, as far as the skull caps go, of course all over ebay you see the chrome caps that just over the top of the existing mirror. Do they not make those in painteable materials? I know I have seen the King Ranches at the dealerships with the color keyed mirrors before just never looked at them close enough to see if it was an overlay or not??? Anyway how difficult is it to swap out the handles??

I just had my mirrors and handles painted by a body shop on my '06 Lariat versus going through all that.

Paid $25 per handle + $100 removal/installation on the handles. $150 for the mirrors.

Before

After

The paint is holding up great. No chips on any of the handles but I have a few knicks on the mirrors from rocks but no worse than my OEM front bumper missing paint as well.

Did my grille and mirrors myself with Duplicolor Oxford White and three coats of clear. Holding up good after a week. I cheaped out on the handles and went with Putco. I like the look, I think the truck flows pretty well. Wheels are next.

Thats definitely the way to go.
You wont have to worry about extra parts laying around.
His total was $375, your gonna spend way more than that on parts plus paint and install
You may be out of a truck for a day though.
I had my handles and mirrors painted within the first few months i had the truck, i have owned it for over two years now with NO problems whatsoever on the painted plastic parts.
I took them off and sanded them myself and just had the body shop clean prep and spray them. Its not difficult at all to get into the door, search the threads here, theres plenty of info on door and mirror removal.

and if your mirrors' skull caps arent already painted then chances are you dont have the removeable skull cap.
have the shop just mask and sand that area or have the whole thing painted.

go to a couple of shops and ask around for pricing, it shouldnt be more then 250 for the handles and maybe 150 for the mirrors plus installation if you dont do it yourself

ive already swapped my original mirrors for custom expy units, and had those sanded and painted as well.

That is the exact look I am going for, except I took my step bars off. Like the FX2 front pieces! Looks really clean. How much was that lower valance on the front? Thanks for the info, I will check my local paint shops for pricing.
