Those are the part numbers for the FX2 skullcaps. just paint to match
those wont work unless he has mirrors with skull caps already on, and if he does they would already be painted, or chrome.

early mirrors were all one peice on the front not a two peice with a skull cap.

and i too would like to see these painted bed caps.
None of the pics showing in this thread have painted bed caps.

I think you guys are talking about my step bars. They are identical to FX2 bars. I originally bought them black and then saw an FX2 and decided I wanted my truck to look like one so I had them painted to match.

My bedrails (rails along the bed of the truck) are not white, they are faded black. lol

Oh...and I paid $199 for the FX2 front lip & $50 to have it painted. Installed it myself.

Anything else about my truck can be found here.

Oh...and if you live in Orlando, Florida area I will give you the name and number to the place that painted my truck as many body shops claim it can't be done.

I guess I don't understand how these mount, I assumed they would be like the aftermarket chrome caps that you see everywhere. Probably a good thing I didn't order them then eh?

I don't know how the caps install either but to me it's silly to pay out the *** to get caps and then still have to paint them when you can just paint the mirrors you have. Not only that but you can paint the whole mirror too instead of just the cap, unless you want just the cap.

the cheapy chrome covers you see all over the place are just that, a chrome COVER. It simply goes over your existing mirror and sticks on it with double sided sticky tape.

the "skull caps" on the newer fx2/4 lariats etc are an actual cap, it is a part of the mirror which is removeable. it pops in and out and has clips to hold it to the housing. Theres two peices, the outside housing and the "cap" That is why you have to have skull caps to replace them.
Our regular mirrors are one big **** peice on the face (front)

I just bought them all at the local Ford dealer (Sunstate Ford) in Orlando from a guy named Thomas. It's just a standard FX2 grill painted how I wanted it and Harley Davidson headlights. The grill wasn't too bad but the headlights were kind of expensive.

Back in the fall of '06 though you wouldn't believe how hard it was to get the part number for that damn grill. The FX2 had JUST come out and nobody knew what the part number was. lol

I had the outside part painted white and the inside part painted black. The entire grill comes unpainted.

And I found my receipts. I paid $141.19 for the grill and another $50 to have it painted. I paid $297.80 with tax for the headlights. They were NOT cheap.

Tasca, do you have a part # for the chrome/painted door handles? didnt see them on the site....

sorry to bump an old thread.
