Question Painting my wheels?

Ok, sounds stupid at first.. but I'm not talking bout the whole wheel, just the shiny silver metal bolt thingys that go around the circumfrence of the wheel.. lol (they almost look like they could be pulled out with an allen or socket wrench, then painted?)

These are the Procomp Series 7005
http://www.procomptires.com/pxa7005.html

Like I said, I'm just looking for suggestions on how to turn the small silver things black without messing with the rest of the wheel or the lugnuts (i think i found some black locking gorillas lugnuts)

Can you not just back them out, then paint them with whatever auto paint is recommended (i.e., engine paint. I know it'd be overkill to have high-heat paint, but at least it'd be durable)? If you take them out (assuming they back out), I would first figure out the torque on them, then put some light-weight thread locker on them when you put them back in (so they don't back themselves out down the road).

I'm pretty sure he got some touch-up paint and used a small brush. Spray paint would have been too hard to control for those bolts. Too small a surface area.

he told me he sanded them , and used duplicolor touch up paint.

it did work for me , but was no match for car washes

majority of the paint came off after 2 carwashes , its really not worth the time and effort put it , unless your able to take them off and have them done right.

yeah that would be your best option, i honestly would not waste my time painting them again. yeah they did look awesome for the few weeks the paint held on there, but then winter came around and it was too cold to hand wash and the car wash place took the paint right off
