Question Paint Advice?

Inaugural posting

I recently purchased and installed a set of PTM Bushwacker Extend-A-Fender Flares. I do love these flares, and installation, although time consuming, was a snap. My problem with this new modification is the "perceived?" variation in color between the vehicle and the flare (I would post pics, but I haven't mastered the art of inserting them within the contents of this message?). My wife thinks I am "being ridiculous", but in low light conditions these flares take on a lighter shade of blue than the rest of the truck. I purchased these flares PTM, and provided the color code visible on the inside of the driver's door (DX for Dark Blue Pearl). Is this variation in color a result of light reflecting at angles uncommon to the rest of the truck, or are my fears confirmed (wrong color, take them off and start over you idiot)?

I think it's probably just the angles.
I have a ptm grill insert, and my original grill surround looks slightly darker than my hood now. The surround was never touched, but the more I stare, the less it looks like the rest of the truck. I say it's an optical illusion.
If it gets the better of you, pull 'em off and paint them black.

Metcalfe, Thanks for the input. It actually did get the better of me - After my local paint & body guy looked at the flares and laughed, I decided to pull them off and have him re-paint. Nothing like doing a job right the first time!
