2006 chrome grill surround
i have a 2006 f150 with a roush chrome grill on it, the grill surround is black, i need to know how to get the surround to be chrome, do i need to order a whole new grill? or is there a replacement peice? if i need to order a new grill can i have a website to order from. i want a roush chrome grill with a chrome surround. i currently have a roush chrome grill with a black surround. ive called several ford dealers and it seems im talking to a wall. i called roush and all the lady knows is what her computer can tell her. i should of started here please help me fix my problem.

you'll have to call a Ford dealer bud. You'll need to purchase an entire grille. Tell them to look for one that says "chrome surround" and price out the cheapest one. Then you'll have to remove your center section (the Roush part) and install it in the new chrome surround.

Actually you need to order a grill that is designed to have painted insert. Ford typically does not put them together so you can paint the insert without it being attached to the chrome. That will save you a ton of time and headaches.

There are a few screws and a bunch of tabs. Do a search on here there are a couple of guys that talk about seperating the 2 pieces. I believe one guy used a feeler guage to pry the tabs. This is a quote from a different thread.

I just did mine without heating or breaking anything. What I did was pry each of the tabs just far enough to wedge a feeler gauge in. I did that for each tab using .010 and up feeler gauges. I also used a little WD-40 to help things along. A little tugging and pulling and it all came apart. You are going to need the thicker feeler gauges to make this work .010 through .025.
