F150 Grille Surround?

F150 Grille Surround?

i was wondering where on ebay i would find a grill surround for a 05 F150 FX4 because its has this https://www.f150online.com/galleries...5529-97498.jpg and i want a black grill surround that i can paint to match the truck but have a billet grill in it not like the one above

Im not 100%, but you should be able to use the surround you have now with a billet grille. I know for sure with honeycomb you could, but not sure how the Hstyle is connected.

If not, there was a guy selling a surround in the Classifieds section, so try to look him up.

the surround is held on with clips and it looks like you can just pop it out. you should be fine to take the surround off. i just checked but i can try and get some pictures later

All inserts, whether H bar or honeycomb are held to the surrounds by plastic clips. It's a PITA to separate them, and you'll probably break some clips, but if I remember right the part will most likely break is on the insert piece, not the surround piece, so you can def reuse the surround and discard your old insert.

ok so the stock grille surround can be seperated from the H bar grille thats in the fx4? and then able to install a billet grill in the grille surround??

The two can be separated (insert and surround), but what you need to do for the billet grill will vary by what grill you buy - some bolt over the existing insert, some you cut the insert to mount the billet, and some are complete replacement inserts that require you to completely remove the factory insert.
