How to replace the blue oval Ford logo?

The blue oval Ford logo on my grill looks like it has some water damage and has turned a rather paisley blue. It looked rather easy to remove - just two nuts. When I took them off, though, it was STILL stuck on there tight as ink on paper! I've got a brand new replacement, (which has an sticky adhesive on the back - big clue) but I can't get the old one to budge and I don't want to crack the grill.

Any suggestions as to how to get that thing off?

there are 2 round clip type nuts as well as the hex nut. maybe they're still stuck down against the grill. you can try snipping the edges with tin snips, but the plastic bolt on the back are very weak. they'll probably snap off as soon as you put any force on them.

If your new one sticks on, then i guess you don't need the old one at all? If that's the case, you can snap the plastic bolt right off, and toss it all in the trash, then stick your new one on.

Hmmm... Perhaps I missed one of those. My replacement has the three "prongs" like the original, but there's a blue plastic film on the back that peels off covering a strong adhesive.

Thanks for the input! I'll look closer at it tonight - with a bright light!

Problem Solved
I removed the two nuts, but it still wouldn't budge. There are plastic clips built into the grille that are meant to hold onto the prongs, making installation a one-way deal: they're easily pushed in, but won't come back out. I pryed on them for half an hour with no success. Finally, since I was going to throw the old badge away anyway, I snipped off the two prongs as close to the clips as possible. Then I tugged on the badge from the outside and it came right off!

The new one slipped right into place and was held tight by the clips. Between them, the adhesive backing of the new badge, and the two nuts, it's extremely secure.
