how do i get them off with out messing the paint up

 

Try either a heat gun or hair dryer,and try to do it on a warm day.I got them off a truck of mine one time,planning on doing it to the one I have now.

 

Do it the easy way. Go to a auto body supply shop and buy an eraser wheel. It is basically a rubber wheel that you chuck into a drill and rub the stripes off with - the drill does all the work. It will take the stripes off in a matter of minutes with very little effort. It won't hurt the paint at all. Here is my before and after picture.

 

i used a hairdryer and my fingernail....and a lot of paitence. wish i knew about the eraser wheel when i took mine off.

 

It erased all the chrome off your rims also.

Seriously, What is an eraser wheel? It wont hurt the paint?

 

It's about a 3 inch circular rubber type material that goes into a drill and you run the drill and it rubs off the decal and all residue left by the decal. It shouldnt hurt the paint at all but test it on a hidden area on the paint to make sure it wont rub through the clear coat. Any autobody supply store should have them. They work wonders for pin striping and rubbing off old 3M tape residue from things like ventshades! (I work at a bodyshop by the way

 

The eraser wheel is a great tool to remove any kind of a decal. They run about $25 or so and worth every penny. It took me about 30 minutes to get the decal off of BOTH sides of that Toyota - and there was a lot of decal to remove as you can see.
