Hitch Cover Sizing Question

So this is the 2nd 2" hitch cover I got that doesn't fit.

Did everyone have to drill a new set of holes, or is there some secret I am unaware of?

Thanks

Let me elaborate.

I have a 2007 xlt supercab and the hole for the receiver pin doesn't seem to be in the right place for any hitch cover.

Either my hitch covers need the hole closer to the outside face/logo OR Ford should have moved the holes further towards the engine.

Now I am going to have to drill a new hole in my hitch cover as I have about 1.5-2" gap between receiver and back of hitchcover face.

Anyone else have this issue?

Next time your near a dealership, stick the hitch cover in another truck to see if it sticks out the same.

If so, then Ford changed the pin hole.

I'd check just to be sure you don't have a defective hitch.
If the receiver bar got welded backwards on the hitchframe, then the hole would be as you describe, more importantly it would probably reduce towing specs for all components because it's different than what was test rated.

My hitch cover came drilled with two different holes. One of them lined up perfectly. Compare it to other Fords and see if your receiver tube is drill in the wrong spot, or possibly welded in place wrong from the factory.

Best hitch cover I've ever had.
