Question avs ventvisors

I have a 07 F-150 FX4 that I took delivery on 3/31. I love this truck it is my first one. The only problem I have had is with the in channel ventvisors, twice the drivers side window would not go down, Ford dealer fixed it both times no charge, last time the tech took me back and showed me the problem was tape on the ventvisors were holding the window up, glued shut, from that tape, first time it broke the regulator, second time pulled window out of the track, I liked those do you all think I will have problems with the in channel ones weathertech makes. I am worried about putting anything in their again. Thanks.

I`ve only use WeatherTech`s For the last 4 trucks and only had 1 problem. A Tornado sucked one out of my rear windows on my Excursion. Been using them for 10 years.

I assume you have power windows?? When I bought my in channels from avs for my 97 the guy specifically asked me if I had power windows. I said no.He said good because he wasn't going to sell me in channels if I did. I asked why. The answer was the prob you had. He said we have had ppl complain that the windows stick. He recommended going with the ones that mount outside the channel if you have power windows. You may want to consider going that route.

Was the tape on the outside or inside of the vent?
If the tape was toward the inside (towards driver) you have the wrong vents, you need the tape to be on the outside of the vent as to not make contact with the window.

I've had my AVS in-channles since June and no problems. Power windows. Had 'em in an '04 Ranger, manual windows with no probs. I installed them myself in a matter of minutes.

yup. had them on my ranger for 3 years, with power windows, replaced the factory outside mount visors on my '03 lariat with 'em, and now have a set on my '04. Only problem was getting a replacement for a cracked one (tree branch) I ended up getting a whole new set from AVS. Now I have a spare for 3 of my 4 windows
