Thinking about a Tonneau Cover

I am thinking about getting a tonneau cover for my 01 supercab.

I want a painted to match fiberglass one but they are very $$$$$.

I have been looking for some used ones, but not getting very much luck.

What other covers do you guys have and what do you like best about it?

Thanks for all your help!

Xtang RT for me.
Good points: ease of use. rolls up nice and out of the way when needed. Bed rail level for the clean look.
Bad points: Can't get it quite tight enough to keep the ripples out at highway speeds. Needs the tailgate seal to keep water out (as most soft covers do).

I have a slightly used Truxedo Truxport Roll-Up Cover that will fit your truck.

It was on my 1999 Supercab for 11 months before I traded it in on my 2007 FX4.

Here is a link to pics of it:

Undercover...it is an outstanding, durable, secure and efficient design. Plus, their customer service is outstanding. Much cheaper than a painted fiberglass tonneau, but also much better, IMO.

You can paint them to match, but the black looks very nice and holds up well. I will always own one as long as I own a pickup.

thanks guys and keep em coming!

There was a guy selling a used *******'s Speedsturr lid like mine over on the Lightning forum for around $300. It was painted blue to match his truck, but it was in great condition. The *******'s Speedsturr lid gives it a Nascar truck look
and is lockable and waterproof. I have also heard that with the improved airflow you can even get better gas millage, but with my lead foot, I've never noticed any improvement. The lid is as smooth as glass and I get lots of compliments from people about how cool it looks. Below are a few pictures of what they look like on my truck.

A cover that will fit a Lightning will not fit on his truck as he has the styleside bed, not the flareside like the L's have.

Thanks, but the point was to let him know that there are hard lids for sale like mine for what he wants to pay, around $300. It was a heads up to keep his eye out for a used one that will fit his truck.

i HAVE to agree with MAT2CH, the speedstur is AWESOME. it sets my truck apart that much more.

the tonneau industry is nice, BUT you get what you pay for. was a recent convention where TRUXEDO was there promoting their stuff. they had a piece of cover with a cut in it and was betting people $20 they couldn't tear it apart.kept saying how NO ONE had ever done it. people were trying and couldn't do it then the guy SHOVES it in my face telling me to try it.....

end of story: i bought an extra case of beer for that night and the salesman had to come up with a new pitch...

i bought my speedstur for about $1100 and about $800 to paint it. can't beat it.

Mail sent.

90 days & 100 posts before being able to send or get a PM is a bit overdoing caution!
